Mission

Since Japan New Diamond Forum was established in July 1985, our mission has been to enhance and support R&D and innovations in diamond technologies through collaborations and information exchanges among researchers and engineers in academia, independent research institutes and industries.

New diamonds, such as diamond like carbon (DLC), fullerenes, and carbon nanotubes, have been focused on over the 1980s and 1990s because of their interesting characteristics. Through these two decades, new diamond technologies have shown us technological and commercial horizons for the 21st century.

Starting with the opening of the ubiquitous society, innovation is regarded as the single most important issue in the history today. The missions of Japan New Diamond Forum can be useful for supporting innovations to create economic and social contribution to humankind.
